Ticklio Introduces Professional Scanning Hardware

At Ticklio, we’ve always believed ticketing should work on the tools people already have. Our validation has been app-free from day one, letting staff scan tickets with any smartphone. That principle isn’t going anywhere. But as more clubs run sold-out matches, European nights, and large-scale events on Ticklio, we’re adding something for the moments when a phone alone isn’t enough: dedicated professional scanning hardware.

Built for the Busiest Gates

A smartphone is perfect for a regular league matchday. But a packed entrance at a sold-out European fixture is a different kind of challenge. Thousands of fans arrive in a short window, often in bad weather, and every second at the gate counts.

That’s exactly what these devices are built for. The new handheld scanners we’re introducing are rugged Android terminals with a dedicated 2D barcode and QR imager, purpose-built for high-volume scanning. Where a phone camera has to focus and adjust, these read a ticket almost instantly, one after another, without slowing down.

Why It Matters

The difference shows up under pressure. These terminals are made to work where phones struggle:

    • Faster, more reliable scanning thanks to a professional imager instead of a phone camera
    • All-day battery life that lasts through the busiest events without a recharge
    • Rugged, weatherproof build that handles rain, cold, dust, and the occasional drop at the gate
    • Dedicated to one job, so there are no calls, notifications, or app switching to get in the way

For clubs and organizers, that means fewer bottlenecks, shorter queues, and a smoother first impression for every fan walking in.

Not a Replacement, an Upgrade

This doesn’t change how Ticklio works. Scanning with any smartphone stays exactly as it is, and for most events it’s still the simplest, most cost-effective option. The new hardware is there for clubs and organizers who want an extra level of speed and reliability at their biggest events, available as an option rather than a requirement.

It’s the same mindset we bring to every venue: always looking at what can be improved, and where. At FC Koper’s Bonifika Stadium, that meant going beyond software to solve a long-standing infrastructure challenge. The stadium’s entrance turnstiles had never been fully operational, despite being installed for years. Our team tackled the technical issues that had prevented them from functioning and finally brought them into operation, turning previously unused infrastructure into a working part of the matchday experience. It’s a perfect example of how we approach challenges: finding practical solutions, removing long-standing obstacles, and making the most of the infrastructure venues already have.

Always Moving Forward

Adding professional scanning hardware is one more step in a much bigger picture. From Ticklio 2.0 to full club digitalizations like NK Radomlje and NK Bravo, and now dedicated devices, we keep expanding what the platform can do, because the events we support keep getting bigger.
